From Your Secretary

Hey everyone,
I just wanted to remind you guys there there will be a scrimmage against Oakton AT Annandale on November 10th at 3pm (in Mrs. Saladino's room).
There's an upcoming scrimmage on November 24th AT Woodson (anyone interested in this? Rides will be provided to and back)
Last but not least. The officers and I wanted to double check if anyone is interested in the "Centennial High School's It's Academic Tournament in Ellicott City, MD" on Sunday, December 13, 2009. If you're interested, please reply back (we're not sure if we'll provide rides for this one...)

From Your Secretary

Hey everyone!
First of all, I'd like to welcome the new members :D (and also thank some of you for giving your real e-mail address) it's quite beneficial (yes, and very annoying: I send e-mails once a week updating you guys on scores if we're having individual games).

Anyway, enough of that. Next week we will have a scrimmage against Oakton on Friday, so plan to say a little longer (I'm going to say 4:45pm) but you can go home any time you want to really (completely up to you guys really).

If you plan on becoming an official member of the club & have the benefits of a member: attending competitions for free, getting a t-shirt, eating food at meetings. YOU NEED TO PAY THE $20 DUES to Nissa next meeting.

Other than that, enjoy your 4 day weekend + collaboration morning!

P.S. if you have any question about the scoring, reply back & I'll explain why. If you haven't scored, you aren't on the score board.

From Your Secretary:
Hey everyone,
Here's the new nifty version of the score on excel. If you prefer the word file I've attached that as well.
On another note: people who will be attending the TJ Quizbowl next Saturday (17th), I will send you an e-mail sometime next week notifying you of the time (we still don't know what time yet...)

Till then, enjoy your three day weekend!

Update October 2, 2009

From Your Secretary:
Hey everyone!
  • Robinson has confirmed the date of the scrimmage for October 8th (Thursday, next week). The first 5 people who e-mails Mrs. Saladino (meghan.saladino@fcps.edu) will get to go. You will get to leave your W8 15 minutes early.
  • Thomas Jefferson High School will be hosting a quiz bowl tournament on Saturday, Oct. 17, anyone interested in going? (We're going to need at least 5 people if you guys are interested) all you have to do is reply back to this e-mail saying so & we'll figure out of there's enough people interested.
  • The final day we will collect the $20 dues will be on October 16th. Bring it that day or you will not be in the club (if you have a problem, talk to one of the officers).
There's really nothing more to say folks. Enjoy your weekend, scores are attached (I will work on creating an excel file for it this weekend, I finally got my excel fixed, but I completely forgot to transfer the scores to excel, so I will do it this weekend)

Secretary

P.S.- I'm sorry I haven't gotten to meet you all yet! It seems like every time we get new members, I'm not in the room. Christina (the President) and I will be there next week. We shall see you guys then.

September 18, 2009

From Your Secretary:
Hey everyone!
Welcome new members (Yaw, Sabera, Sahnun, Saffana and Aya) -is that a bit too awkward? I'm truly sorry. I'm just excited you guys read the filers or heard from a friend to join this club!

Now on with our business:
We will be asking Robinson if they could somehow work out their schedule to host us on September 23rd (Wednesday). If you would like to go it would be right after school in the jock lobby. A ride will be provided. The maximum amount of people who can go will be limited to the first 5 who e-mails Mrs. Saladino (meghan.saladino@fcps.edu).

There will be a "Longfellow Academic challenge" on Saturday October 24th. I only got a reply from Scott & BJ. Are there anyone else who's interested in attending this? If so, please e-mail back & I'll send you more information on it.

Enjoy your weekend.

Ha Tang

Additional Reminders:
  • Remember to fill out and return your permission slips in order to go on television and scrimmages at other schools!
  • The Robinson Scrimmage will take place after school on September 23, 2009
  • Taping will occur on Saturday September 26, 2009
  • Dues will be due on October 2nd- It's $20 for the whole year!

FINAL SUMMER PRACTICE

Hey everyone!
Scores are attached. Next week please bring art supplies! We will be decorating the It's Ack board for the freshmen orientation (that's happening on the 4th). I'm not sure what else to add... anything you want to mention officers (or members)?
